When you're not underwater, Montserrat has some hidden gems of places to eat and drink. Here's a few of our favourites.
Pink Palace, St Johns
Perched on the top of the cliff, Elvie probably has the best view from all the bars on Montserrat... and she serves some pretty awesome Bushrum
Voted as number 3 in the whole Caribbean, the serving and kitchen team won't let you down. Margaret will find you a table, Mr Wilson will pour you a drink and Sarah will prepare your meal. You can even catch a glimpse of some of the photos from when Sir George Martin came home to his residence during his Montserrat stays!
Dip & Althea's Pizza Kitchen
Make the journey to Look Out, it's worth it. Call them up, order your pizza and pick it up fresh in about 45minutes. They have great signage from main road as you drive through, you can't miss them!
In the heart of Brades, Mark and his team serve the best quick option of a bite to eat anytime of day at very reasonable prices too!
You step into meet Uncle and you know you've come home! An abundant garden with ingredients waiting to be turned into homemade flavoured rum overlooking the volcano. Tell Auntie Marie what you fancy from the menu before 2pm and it'll be ready when you arrive to watch an amazing sunset!
King's Indian Takeaway
When you drive through Carr's Bay, make a stop and see Rocky at Kings Supermarket. He has homemade frozen takeout meals, counter top snacks, as well as being able to make fresh to order. Find out whats cooking when you pass.
Join Joe and Jackie for a real Montserrat lime. These guys will show you all you need for a good time is good company. They operate a quaint little bar on the roadside on the quiet Glebe Road in Salem.
Burgers and Beers! That's what he claims, but you can find more than just that!! Moose is a dab hand in the kitchen and cooks up locally sourced ingredients as and when they are available. Probably the most laid back bar owner not just in Little Bay, but on Montserrat, everything is positive!
Hidden in the back streets of Salem, you can follow the sound of latino- Caribbean music to find Danny and hear his stories of old Montserrat, ask him about when he taught Sting to windsurf!
Showcasing local artists and highlighting culinary fair, this quirky cafe with a family attitude serves up coffee, smoothies and Caribbean influenced dishes. Be sure to share a smile whilst your sip your smoothie; front man Geffen might just make you famous on their facebook page! Find them on the way through St Peter's on the bend.
